Construction Updates

December 2020

Chesebro Crossing Bridge

Crews have finished up construction on the new bridge barrier rails and sidewalks have been poured and stamped. This month, the application of the antique finish to the newly constructed bridge barrier rails will begin.  Work will continue on electrical improvements, drainage, landscaping, and irrigation. Please expect flagman directing traffic on the bridge with minor delays as construction crews work in the area.

Northbound Highway 101 On- and Off-ramps

Crews have completed the final paving and striping for the updated northbound on- and off-ramps. In December, crews will be working on drainage and lighting improvements. Once completed, landscaping will be planted within the project area.

The majority of construction throughout the month will occur behind safety barriers with lanes and ramps open. Please visit the detour webpage to view maps for upcoming temporary closures:

Northbound and southbound on- and off-ramps at Chesebro Road

- Temporary, short-term closures for the movement of materials and equipment

- Drivers can use the on- and off-ramps at Kanan Road and Liberty Canyon Road as detours.

Palo Comado Canyon Road

- Flagmen will direct traffic as needed near the freeway overcrossing between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Construction of public works projects is an essential government service even during current health measures. Our teams are working to ensure that these needed improvements are built while accommodating safe working conditions. Please be cautious while driving through the area and remember to "Slow for the Cone Zone."
